The NMSO was the author’s professional home for 5 years from 1988 to 1993. The case sparks discussions of board and staff issues at key moments while examining the contextual flow of an arts institution within a unique community across eight decades, 1932 to 2011, of growth and change.

Mid-Atlantic University Student Organizations Case

A discussion case centering on communication difficulties between student organizations where expectations differ among white and non-white, gay and straight groups. All operate in a seemingly unforgiving university environment. Students talk right past each other without realizing it. Readers are left to untangle issues.
